Job Club

Job Club

Our Job Club is a free weekly workshop to boost the job-hunting process for people by equipping them with the tools, skills and confidence to find work. We are one of several hundred churches across the UK who run Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Job Clubs and/or Money Courses.

CAP is a charity which is determined to reduce poverty in the UK caused by debt and unemployment. It partners its expertise with the care of the local church to offer free money management advice, debt help, help to break addictions and job seeker support. For more about CAP see capuk.org

About Job Club

What is Job Club?

Job Club happens in a relaxed setting, with copious cups of tea and coffee with homemade cakes. It involves practical sessions that include topics such as motivation, identifying skills and strengths, CV writing and interview techniques. We also encourage group support and provide time to focus on individual needs through one-to-one coaching. We end each session with a light lunch.

Who is it for?

Absolutely anyone can come along to Job Club but it is particularly aimed at those who are trying to get back into the job market after a period of unemployment or those looking for their first job.

When is it?

Job Club runs on Tuesdays from 10.30 a.m. to noon at Leominster Baptist Church, Etnam Street, HR6 8AJ.

I need debt and/or money help

In addition to Job Club, at LBC we also run free CAP money courses to help you manage your money better and learn to budget, save and spend well. Available as a group session, we are also willing and able to work with people on a one-to-one basis. This can include help with non-priority debts.
