Membership

Church membership is a significant commitment in the life of a Christian. It is more than just attending services—it is about becoming an active and devoted member of the Body of Christ. Membership signifies a deep connection to a local congregation, where individuals grow in faith, serve one another, and participate in the mission of the Church.
Membership Explained
Joining a church is a way of showing your faith and dedication to following Jesus. Anyone who believes in Christ is part of the worldwide Church—a family of believers connected by their faith. But becoming a member of a local church means choosing to be part of a specific community, working together to share the gospel and support one another. It’s like saying, “This is where I belong, and these are my spiritual brothers and sisters.” In the Baptist tradition, church membership includes personally declaring your faith in Jesus, being baptised by immersion, and committing to worship, serve, and build relationships within the church family.
Church membership is open to all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In the Baptist tradition, membership is typically extended to those who have been baptised as believers by immersion, following their personal commitment to Christ. If you have been baptised in another Christian tradition, you may be welcomed into membership through a statement of faith or transfer from another like-minded church.
Being part of a church family is an important part of following Jesus. Church membership gives you a sense of belonging, support, and accountability in your faith. It helps you grow spiritually through worship, prayer, and Bible study while also giving you opportunities to serve others with love. Church isn’t just a place to go—it’s a community of believers united in Christ. When you commit to a local church, you become part of its mission, working together to share the gospel and encourage one another in faith.
If you are considering church membership, we would love to journey with you. We arrange a friendly meal where you can meet with church leaders to discuss membership, ask any questions, and learn more about what it means to be part of our church family. Following this, your membership application is brought before the church membership for approval. Speak with the pastor or church leadership to learn more about the process. Membership is typically received through believer’s baptism, a statement of faith, or a transfer of membership from another church. We encourage you to take this step of faith and deepen your commitment to Christ and His Church.
